About The Salon
Cattitude Salon is Pennsylvania's Only Feline-Exclusive grooming salon, located in downtown Ellwood City, right outside of Pittsburgh.  It was opened in 2008 to fill a void in the local pet care industry.

After much hard work, time, and money; the old dilapidated building was remodeled by Rooms for Improvement Construction Company into a beautifully modern, state-of-the-art facility for grooming all types, temperaments, and sizes of felines.

Cattitude Salon also uses the brand new, ingenious CattyShackVac drying system. It creates a relaxing environment for the cat all the while safely drying the pet and removing mats, dander, allergens, and undercoat from the air in the grooming room. It cuts drying time in half and therefore the cats can go home faster and remain calmer rather than spending all day at the groomers.

We are fully insured though the leading animal industry insurance provider, Gibson Governor and are fully certified through the National Cat Groomers Institute of America.

I invite you to give us a try. We guarantee to be the very best cat groomer you have ever had, or your money back.

All conditions, breeds, ages,
and temperaments are welcome!

~~ "What do all the letters after your name mean???" ~~
  • CFMG stands for Certified Feline Master Groomer.
  • CFCG stands for Certified Feline Creative Groomer and
  • NCMG stands for Nationally Certified Master Groomer.
Each of these titles came with months of rigorous studying and practicing as well as an accumulation of years and years worth of experience working with cats.  To earn one of these titles involves a thorough and complete understanding of feline behaviors, handling techniques, breed history and characteristics as well as things related to managing and running a successful business.
To me, it is not just about having letters after my name to try and look important, it is the satisfaction I get from knowing I have applied myself to my work to become the very best at what I do.  I am constantly attending grooming industry tradeshows and seminars to better and update my skills.  By continuing my education I feel I will always be able to provide superior sevice and quality while meeting each customer's individual needs.
If your doctor attended medical school 40 years ago but since then hasn't opened a book or bought newer equipment or been to an industry seminar to see what the latest and greatest is available to him, would you feel he was very educated and up to date with his techniques?  How safe would you feel in his care?
I feel that the pet grooming industry is the exact same.  There are thousands of dog groomers across the country.  Some of these offer cat grooming services.  Most of these do so because they were taught years ago in grooming school, that cat grooming is the same as dog grooming but just to be a tad more careful because their bites can end carreers.  Some do it simply for the extra money, although the results produced are worth anything but the amount they charge.
Some of the practices still in use at other grooming shops literally make me cringe.  I cannot stand to think of cats being left in cages for hours not being worked on or even dried.  I hate to think that anyone uses long, sharp, pointed scissors on cats who can be unpredictable and flinch at any given second.  The muzzels that cover a cats face are dangerous and cover vital signs of stress that a groomer should always be aware of.  If your dog groomer that grooms your cat is doing any of these things, or you just aren't pleased with the results, I invite you to give us a try for the safety and sanity of your beloved pet.
Over the past couple of years so many advancements have been made in the cat care industry, particularly the education of feline groomers.  The NCGIA is the foundation for cat grooming education and employs the safest and best tools, techniques, and training available.  I am so very proud to be a part of this organization.  The tools, products, handling skills, and knowledge I have, is and are the very best in the industry.  Everything is 100% safe and effective on cats specifically.  Most of what dog groomers use says "safe for cats, too" but it was specifically designed for dogs and therefore does not work properly on cats.  My tools are FOR cats, not for dogs.
